DEi is the international arm of the QLD Department of Education and Training (DoE) which manages the International Student Program (study in a QLD Government School), Study tours, Professional Visits, Holiday Adventure programs, Temporary Residents Admissions, and International education consultancy services. Managing a team of 7 (direct - 3, indirect - 4) encompassing the Business Planning and Forecasting, and Financial Operations teams, the role reports to the Manager Corporate Services, operating in a mix of commercial and government environment. Through partnering with Business Unit Directors and Managers, I provide strategic leadership, advice, direction, effective and timely data analysis, review and reporting on the financial management and budgeting aspects of the department with particular focus on:1) Producing product sales, costings, and forecast reports using SAP, Power Query / BI, and advanced Excel Functionality.2) Building and evaluating excel models and scenarios to evaluate projects, whilst considering business and financial risk3) Developing systems, processes and tools for the (a) management of outstanding debt including developing a revenue impairment model (through AASB9), and (b) revenue recognition process for student payments4) Review of contracts, advising of business and financial risks5) Implementation of financial management policy as it relates to the management accounting functionAchievements to date:Management of:1) the re-profiling of the annual budget (due to COVID19) 2) the 2019/20 EOFY process 3) the 2021/22 budget process4) submission of strategic briefs, and 4) the development and implementation of 24 month rolling forecast process
