I was TUPE'ed into ITNET from Westminster City Council where my roles and responsibilities significantly increased.IBM Mainframe• Support of the CICS, MVS and DB2 environments.• Transfer of the system programming functionality to a dedicated Birmingham based team.• Evaluated mainframe ‘testing’ products.• Managed a small team to test mainframe applications for Y2K compliance.UNIX• Assisted with Unix system administration.HelpDesk• Create and run a dedicated application helpdesk for the a Social Services department.• Transition of the helpdesk service to client ‘Superusers’.Project management• Passed the in-house, Prince based. Project Management Accreditations Scheme.• I attended all project planning meetings on behalf of the Applciation team• Project managed the decommissioning of the mainframe financial and payroll services.Team Management / Service Delivery • Team leader to a small group of application support staff, mainly MS-Access developers – on a Windows platform. • Responsible for the server installation of new software packages. Initially I worked a as a computer operator, undertaking tape mounts, print request and scheduling the batch runs before moving into mainframe system programming where I worked in a team supporting the CICS, Adabas and Philips propietary Y2000 environments.
