The Bank of Montreal is one of Canada’s largest banks providing services to clients across North America. Work with BMO focused on working with their Capital Markets Risk Management Group Corporate Lending division.Provided project management and leadership to a team of 17 internal resources and external contractors including off-shore resources in the delivery of outcomes through the Software Development Lifecycle. Accountable for the management and operation of a team of 17 resources servicing the Capital Markets Risk Management Group Corporate Lending division. This included the setting of work priorities, planning for team staffing, monitoring and evaluation of team performance, and the setting of the annual operating budget for the department. Provided full-cycle project management services on various software development projects from initiation through to project closure. This involves the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of the project working with business and vendor resources to ensure a successful delivery. Oversaw project resources, and management of project risks and opportunities. Worked with project teams to create Project Charters, detailed Work Breakdown Structures, and initial scope of work estimates. Reported to project sponsors and steering committees on the status of projects including issue management, risk management, resourcing requirements, budget, scope, and timelines. Provided recommendations and decision documents to sponsors and steering committee members ensuring a timely turnaround of required decisions. Managed relationships with external vendors ensuring the provision of services aligned with quality expectations and scope as defined within the statements of work. Report Development; As the Team Leader Report Development oversaw the work priorities and performance of a team of 3 report developers ensuring that team deliverables aligned with project outcomes.Worked closely with the development team to plan and prioritize work requests from various projects to ensure that on-time and quality deliverables were provided. This required the estimation of effort to complete work requests, providing that feedback directly back to the requestor. Planned for and managed the execution of several projects including the development of the project plan, schedule, resourcing, and timelines based upon the established business requirements. This included communication with sponsors and steering committees, escalating issues as required to ensure the management of project risks.Developed the requirements management approach for projects including the definition of elicitation activities, requirements retention, solution assessment, and solution evaluation. As part of the project team provided senior architectural review of an existing pharmaceutical price management system with the objective of defining a more stable and scalable solution. This involved the review of the existing application’s architecture, schema, interfaces, and capabilities to ensure alignment with functional requirements. Working with a development team, designed the future-state application data model and associated functional capabilities ensuring the planning of development activities and quality assurance to govern the development and implementation of the new application. Managed and monitored the day-to-day activities and priorities of the project team ensuring that barriers to progress were removed or minimized and that stakeholders were engaged and kept informed of project progress and impacts. Developed various plans and activities including the project testing strategy, user acceptance testing activities, post-implementation sustainment processes, and user documentation.

Select clients include: Husky Energy, The City of Calgary, WestJet, TELUS, and Talisman Energy. Provided senior level oversight on various projects including the establishing of acceptance criteria for software development projects and evaluating the developed product against the established criteria. PL/SQL Developer; Played a contributing role within a team of 15 developers ensuring the delivery of quality PL/SQL and Oracle Forms and Reports work products. This included performance, unit and integration testing on the various reports developed.
