I’ve always worked hard from the tender age of 16. I took inspiration from my dad who seemed to be at work all the time while I was growing up. I didn’t realise at the time that he was working his ass off so we could have a good life, holidays, birthdays and big Christmas’s. I find my self doing exactly the same for my family, working every day I can both physically and mentally. I landed my dream job back in 2009 as a firefighter for WYFRS and I’ve loved every day since. I was 25, but a young 25 when I joined. You soon grow up fast in the fire service after going to incidents and seeing things you wish you didn’t. This has shaped me in to who I am now, a family man who will do anything for his family. Working the shift patterns we do at the fire service allows us, with permission, to have a second employment. I got fed up with being a labourer and digging holes in the rain so I decided to start my own business teaching first aid with the aim to be able to afford dance lessons for my daughter, new footy boots and piano lesson for my two boys and maybe a holiday for the wife.
