One of two founding Directors of Newforms Landscape Architecture, Matt maintains the position of Project Director within the company and manages major projects from schematic design through to realisation. In this role, Matt maintains effective communication between Clients, Stakeholders and his teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.Through extensive experience with landscape construction both on the ground and as the managing director of contracting company, Phase3 Landscape Construction, Matt has developed a detailed understanding of construction techniques and requirements. This experience enables him to facilitate practical and creative solutions to construction detailing, as well as giving him a strong understanding of cost control and budget management. Matt has a keen interest in the opportunities for landscape architecture to demonstrate best practice in environmentally sustainable design initiatives in the built environment, whilst maintaining a high design aesthetic.Matt has been an active member of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architecture WA Group (AILA) maintaining a four year tenure as the State President until July this year and has been involved in a number of advisory committees including the Built Environment Design Professionals (BEDP) WA group and the Australian Urban Design Research Centre (AUDRC). Matt has a keen motivation for the advocacy of the profession as integral in planning and design of built spaces on all scales.
