I've recently joined the QPC after stints at Synergies Economic Consulting and Queensland Treasury. I have considerable experience as an applied economist and have built and used whole of economy (CGE) models of more than a decade.My career highlights so far include:- Conducting an inquiry into service delivery in remote Indigenous communities- Consulting on a variety of things at Synergies Economic Consulting, including toll roads, blood plasma, regional airports and forecasting regional employment outcomes- Leading modelling to identify the key future fiscal and economic challenges for the Queensland Commission of Audit- Leading modelling to assess the impacts of climate change on the Australian and Queensland economies for the Garnaut Climate Change Review and the Queensland Government- Constructed economic and employment projections by region and industry to assist agencies plan and prioritise policies to help address indigenous youth unemployment- Constructing projections to improve transport planning- Leading a team providing economic and modelling advice across a wide range of policy issues including fisheries, agriculture, native title resolution, natural resources, indigenous affairs, climate change, electricity, telecommunications, city planning and regional developmentI also love cycling, and have just returned from a 7 month adventure cycling from Iceland to Morocco (via Greece)!
