-Management of departments-Ensure tunaround times meet client's and GM's requirements-Ensure Quality data -Responsible for personnel training and testing-Responsible for housekeeping in department and safe working conditions-Responsible for maintenance of equipment and required files, logs etc.-Research and developement on new methods of analysis -Ordering supplies-Disposal of waste-Write, upgrade and monitor QA/QC protocols-Maintain Job descriptions-Authority to sign test reports from thier dept. and C of A's in the absence of the GM-Advise GM of adequacy of equipment and personnel to handle workload

•Digesting mineral samples using aqua-regia and multi-acid solutions, as well as with sodium peroxide fusions•Analyzing samples using the AA and the ICP spectrometers•Training new wet lab and instrumentation employees on analytical and safety procedures•Maintaining laboratory and instrumentation equipment •Participating in the effort to improve health and safety within the company•Organizing the laboratory•Preparing a variety of solutions and standard reagents
