I'm building a cross functional team along with the various supporting commercial arrangements, processes, tools etc. to ensure smooth Commercial Operations ready for start-up. The role involves a high degree of integration between many parties, disciplines and cultures.Its a fascinating role largely because A) its a fascinating supply chain with really great people & B) I get to build a team from the best people from PetroChina, Petronas, Kogas, Mitsubishi & Shell. I also really enjoy working the team at Coastal Gas Link (CGL) - that 670km pipeline crossing two mountain ranges is an amazing achievement. Professionally this is the most enjoyable and challenging role I've had - The team of people that the 5 Joint Venture Partners have assembled for this project is second to none. I've never worked with such an amazing and experienced crew.

I was Shells’ shareholder representative to various North West Shelf Shipping & Marketing agencies. Essentially that means I look after Shells Commercial interests in the jointly marketed LNG contracts sold ex the North West Shelf (NWS) , along with being Alternate Director for the company managing the equity lifting side of the NWS business.Apart from my North West Shelf duties I also undertook a range of roles all centered around supporting Gorgon & Prelude start up.I learnt a lot about Governance, Transfer Pricing, LNG Price Reviews & Start Ups during this period of my career.

I was a Shell secondee into Brunei-LNG where I set up and looked after a small & energetic team (Commercial Operations & Upstream) that was responsible for LNG Shipping, ADP formulation and management, LNG customer relationship management, LNG Spot sales & commercial negotiations with 3rd party feed-gas suppliers. This was a challenging role where I learnt a lot about Commercial dealings in an Asian LNG context. My family & I really enjoyed our time in Brunei.

I had the good fortune to work as a Commercial Manager on the followng projects: Prelude LNG, Wheatstone LNG, Gorgon, LNG Transfer Pricing, various LNG Lifting Agreements & Balancing Agreements + Domestic gas issues.

In 2006 I had the opportunity to apply for a role in NWSG (Agency that marketed pipeline gas for the North West Shelf Project) and was extremely fortunate to be successful in getting that role. There were many highlights and learnings during my time in NWSG including learning about Price reviews, Arbitration processes and what a high performing team looks like. During that time I negotiated several pipeline gas sales agreements of various durations, The biggest learnings stemmed from working closely with customers, pipeline managers & WA state Government regulators during the 'Varranus Island Incident', (a fire at a 3rd party gas plant that severely affected gas access across Western Australia). I really enjoyed my time at NWSG and stay in touch with many of the people I met during my time there.

I worked in the Downstream for the 1st 11 years of my career in the Commercial area specializing in fuels, bitumen & lubricants. I was fortunate enough to have assignments in QLD (Twice - The first supporting Shells Distributor network across QLD and the 2nd as Shell QLD Bitumen Sales Manager), Victoria (Various supporting roles in Bitumen, fuels and lubricants businesses) and Tasmania (where I was both State Manager and also the Company (Chairmans) Corporate representative). I loved all of these roles but I must admit the Tasmanian job was the best (I was based in Launceston - a fantastic place live and work).

Straight out of uni and onto the factory floor supervising ~20 so panel beaters, spray painters and others from an array of countries approximately reflecting Victorias immigration profile at the time. Stationed in the 'Paint Shop' alternating between day and afternoon shifts.... It's impossible to overstate the Leadership Learnings I gained in this environment - especially coming straight out of university! I loved it though and am still a proud 'Ford Man'.When I left Ford I travelled around Australia - The highlight being working as a 'drillers assistant' on some gold field in northern WA & playing 'footy' for Port Headland Rovers.
