- Built an analytics microservice that leveraged Apache Spark to allow SQL-like queries against flat file data that were produced via an offline batch process- Refactored our legacy alert/notification system to leverage Hibernate/Spring JPA with annotation driven Spring event listeners. This allowed us to extend the application's functionality to be more eventful and provide customer value by allowing users to 'watch' units of work- Built an asynchronous notification service using Spring Cloud, Eureka, and Apache Kafka. The 'Notification Stream' UI was built in AngularJS

- Designed and built an Eclipse RCP plugin to aid internal development resources on day-to-day coding activities. Features included a custom editor for our XML-based language including inline validation against schema files, custom completion proposals evaluated against our dynamic XML-based object model, automatic code generation, and better traversal of file references against multiple client-specific projects included in a single workspace- Developed and maintained front-end and back-end features for a large Java EE application focused on commercial lending and related financial services- Designed and developed SOAP-based services to third party applications- Traveled to client sites for technical consultation on business requirements- Developed a prototype for a jQuery based UI using JAX-RS- Was involved in the initial planning and development of a framework upgrade using JAX-RS and AngularJS which replaced the traditional JSP data binding and presentation model

- Created news headline modules for Corporate Portal Intranet pages using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Flash/ActionScript 3 and implemented into HTML pages with JavaScript and Adobe Dreamweaver.- Designed and wrote a generic Flash calendar solution that uses XML as a data source to maintain events. The calendar was able to reference multiple XML sources across many repositories.- Improved multimedia products by utilizing Adobe Soundbooth to achieve better sound quality.- Collaborated on the design and creation a reporting and project management tool written in VB.NET and using XML and Access as data sources. After the tool was rolled out to multiple teams, it was re-written to generate content dynamically based on user roles.- Maintained a web-based filtering tool written in XSLT and JavaScript.- Began collaboration to create global XSLT classes that would be used across all workspaces to save code and time.- Designed and wrote a lightweight application in VB.NET that reads an Excel spreadsheet and converts the data into an XML file for use with the aforementioned filtering tool.

- Created VBA macros in Excel to consolidate metrics data from multiple workbooks across several repositories.- Created web pages for the Corporate Portal Sales & Marketing intranet using manually written HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.- Collaborated on a browser-based portal page editor written in JavaScript, XML, and XSLT which was run client-side to circumvent poor server performance. Collaboration included creation of code, UI elements, and overall look and feel.
