I've worked in almost every capacity in the arts and entertainment businesses. I've four-walled films theatrically, run street-level promotions, overseen the special features division at a micro-major, run the sales force for a mid-level music company, handled acquisitions, contracts and development for several boutique labels, and overseen the highest executive posts at a couple of special-product distributors. I've also done the lecture circuit, written columns and podcast about Contemporary art, Asian film, pop culture and motion picture marketing. I have curated museum exhibitions, and as director of the influential La Luz de Jesus Gallery and owner of Pasadena's Gallery 30 South help to set the public standard of emergent art in Los Angeles, and therefore the world. From scripted page and book production to installation and retail co-op I have been involved in every process along the way, which gives me a unique view of the business from 30,000 feet all the way down to the man on the street. I specialize in developing non-traditional markets & establishing direct inroads to the consumer, collector and producer, but most importantly: following-up with customer service. Knowing and identifying the specific audience for a work of art (be it a film or a painting) is step 1 in connecting with patrons on a personal level, whether the goal is to reach one or one million. I've developed a complex strategy for accelerating the tipping point that goes from street-level promotion all the way to Madison Avenue without losing the unique characteristics of each campaign. I see each opportunity as a career-builder and look beyond the opening day to track a long-term course. I've published numerous books, and over the past 20+ years helped build the careers of some of the most successful artists in the current pop lexicon. I'm fortunate to have turned my lifelong love of art and film into a successful career.
