In this role I help fellow students with coding problems as well as providing support if they’re feeling overwhelmed. I have helped students that were coding in a variety of languages from C++ to Java to Assembly Language (x86). This has helped further my understanding of these languages and I enjoy guiding others towards solutions to problems.Additionally, my fellow mentors we organised a Festival of Code day which took place on a Saturday 10.00-17.00. Students were invited to attend, asks questions, and receive help. My fellow mentors and I had organised to award prizes to the students which had impressed us with their determination.

Within this role I had many responsibilities, including general admin assistance. Due to my technical background, I often offered technical support. When a new system was implemented for the office, I helped my colleagues with the transition and ensured they knew how it worked.

Since receiving an offer at Sheffield Hallam I looked for work around Sheffield. My application to global was successful and here I am employed as a part time steward. I work at events from football matches to concerts to festivals. I have to ensure that I am friendly and helpful with fans as this is a customer service role that also must ensure the safety of all attendants. Here I am working towards a crowd safety qualification.
