Matthew Kitchen has been employed in a part time capacity with Adams Environmental since 2000 and has worked full time as AEI’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst/Project Manager since his graduation from Texas State University in 2008. While with Adams Environmental, Mr. Kitchen has been the GIS task leader for several projects including mapping for several military bases, which have spanned across the United States, from Louisiana to California. He specializes in GIS mapping, databases, and web page development. Mr. Kitchen also has developed GIS models for predicting wildlife and plant habitat ranges. Although his specialty skills reside in GIS mapping and modeling, Mr. Kitchen also serves as a technical writer for AEI. Throughout his years with AEI, Mr. Kitchen has written NEPA-related documents and has assisted senior scientists with numerous projects. Mr. Kitchen is able to effectively apply the needs of NEPA documents when he is working with GIS because of this. His recent interest revolves around Environmental Assessment (EA) documents. In 2015, Mr. Kitchen was certified as a GISP and also obtained both his Master of Natural Resources and GIScience Certificate from Oregon State University.
