I teach classes in the digital arts for the Art Department and the New Media Department. I co-created Introduction to Digital Art for the Art Department, a long-running course that is a degree requirement. I also created the online version which was the first art class taught online for the University of Maine. I also created and taught online courses in Web Graphics and Vector Graphics and a course on developing creativity. My work here forces me to continually update my technical skills in computer graphics, video editing, website development, and learning management systems.

As a writer, I co-authored Digital Prepress Complete, Photoshop in a Nutshell, Illustrator 9 for Dummies. Most recently I have been writing case studies for Riverbed Technologies.As a corporate trainer, I have taught many clients in web and print publishing technologies, including Bell Atlantic Yellow Pages.I have built websites for various clients including ElectricFilm, Concept III, and the IMRC Center.

Freeport, Maine

In addition to personally creating over a thousand technical sketches, I assisted in the implementation of a product management system to communicate construction information to vendors accurately and efficiently. This included training designers in the professional use of graphics software and related technologies, as well as the construction of large digital libraries of assets such as objects and color swatches to assist designers in the creation of product sketches.

Burbank, California

I created graphics for the Microsoft Home CD-ROM title, 500 Nations, an interactive history of Native Americans. This included retouching archival photos and composting them into attractive yet intuitive user interfaces. Additionally, I edited all video footage (starring Kevin Costner) included on title.

Camden, Maine

A three-month internship turned into a full-time position for 2 years before the Center closed its doors. In its day, the Kodak Center for Creative Imaging was the world's leading site for computer graphics and digital video education. From the start I assisted instructors to teach workshops in digital imaging, desktop publishing and video editing. Later I became a lab manager, assisting in managing the Center's 70+ computers, video editing suites, high-end printers and other technologies, while teaching introductory classes in creative imaging.
