With over 10 years of experience in microbiology, chemistry, and quality control, I am passionate about ensuring the safety and quality of alcohol beverages. As the Denver Manager and Lead Microbiologist at Brewing and Distilling Analytical Services, LLC (BDAS), I oversaw the day-to-day operations of the testing laboratory, and performed microbiological and chemical assessments of key fermentation parameters, spoilage microbes, and sensory attributes of various products. I also managed and trained a team of technicians and analysts, and collaborated with clients and stakeholders to provide timely and accurate results and recommendations. Previously, I was the Manager and Lead Microbiologist at the Lexington, KY branch of BDAS, where I was promoted after working soley as Lead Microbiologist. concurrent with my employment at BDAS, I also worked part time as Chief Scientific Officer at Ethereal Brewing, a craft brewery that specialized in experimental and innovative beers. There, I led the QA/QC program, including sensory training and evaluation, and helped develop CIP and other process improvements. I have a BS in Bacteriology/Microbiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and multiple skills in microbiology, chemistry, quality control, and sensory analysis. I am driven by the mission of advancing the science and art of brewing and distilling, and bringing diverse perspectives and experiences to the field.
