Engaged to provide strategic analysis, input and guidance to Coles' future Supply Chain development, in areas covering: macro/micro Industry and consumer trends, competitor benchmarking (local and global), strategic development options, improving supplier/retailer collaboration, quality & performance management, and supplier/industry communications.

Responsible for building a robust compliance framework for Coles, comprising all new supply standards, new performance recording & reporting systems, supported by new supplier communication, education and engagement initiatives. Passionate about providing clarity and consistency - with accurate and objective data-based performance metrics - to help drive a safer, simpler and more-efficient supply chain.

Responsibility for managing supplier performance and adherence to Woolworths' supply chain requirements through supplier site audits, DC education sessions, addressing industry forums and workgroups, daily liaison with DC stakeholders, participation in strategic sales and operations planning, and provision of training and guidance to both trade partners and internal Woolworths stakeholders. Daily data analysis and stakeholder consulation, weekly supplier auditing, and creation/delivery of monthly education sessions for trade partner community. Creation of visual standards guides, technical documents and trade partner newsletters. Created WWVCTS DVD and training program which has been actively deployed to 10,000+ supply chain practitioners throughout the industry and remains a fundamental component of standards education within the FMCG category. Awarded "Company Hero - Logistics Division" in 2010.

Key liaison point between Woolworths and it's trade partners for all Victorian Supply Chain issues. Responsible for identifying and communicating development opportunities and for achieving resolution to all compliance concerns (eg. SSCC and GTIN compliance, pallet standards, packaging issues, scanning accuracy, service levels etc). Also tasked with providing analysis and insight into various Supply Chain issues for National Office, especially regarding DC utilisation, overstocks/out-of-stocks reduction and key supplier delivery performance.

Full responsibility for National Inventory Management across 8 trading categories. Ensured that Store Service Level and Stock Cover (DOS) targets were met or exceeded during an incredibly dynamic and successful period for Woolworths. Direct management responsibility for 22 replenishment-buying and demand-planning staff, including 11 "Co-Managed Inventory" (formerly CMI, now VMI) representatives from our major suppliers (KCA, Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Reckitt Benckiser, Johnson & Johnson, SCA/CHH, Cadbury~Schweppes, Mars etc). Managed national replenishment for 700+ stores, with a stock holding of over $100M and a weekly departmental throughput in excess of 2.2 million cartons (105M+ p.a.). Actively involved in preparing training programs and evaluating pilot replenishment systems.

Managed team of 24 replenishment buyers (rebuyers) across two trading groups and eleven category teams. Daily monitoring and analysis of supply issues, forecasting DC constraints and staffing issues. Key responsibilities included training & development, performance management and driving better communication between all areas of the business. Provided analysis of replenishment issues and opportunities to senior management (including CEO and MD level) and assisted in planning and implementing the Co-Managed Inventory initiative (now the Vendor Managed Inventory or VMI program).

Shared responsibility for daily replenishment of distribution centres servicing our stores. Involved daily analysis of demands and forecast/actual stock movement, as well as constant communication and negotiation with 180 suppliers, category managers, store management and supply chain teams.

Successful 12-month program encompassing full management training across 8 store locations, including 5 relief assignments as Assistant Store Manager. Responsibility for merchandising, personnel management, standards supervision, staff selection and training, customer relations, and achievement of sales and salary budgets.
