Matthew Mansour teaches at Macquarie University in the Computing and Accounting and Governance departments.Matthew is well known amongst the Macquarie community for merging active and cooperative learning methods into the traditional lecture structure. His teaching strategies range from group discussion and peer reviews to uniquely developed online learning strategies.In his few short years as a lecturer, Matthew already has numerous notable achievements under his belt. They include being the first lecturer in the computing department to trial the use of new-media technologies in the classroom, and more recently, maintaining an overall score of above 4.7/5 in his Learning and Teaching Evaluations at Macquarie. He was also chosen as part of a select group of teaching staff to join the Macquarie Spectrum Approach to Mentoring program whereby he mentors fellow lecturers on student learning initiatives and integrating new technologies into the curriculum. During this time he developed the now highly popular ISYS100 - the first unit of its kind to incorporate social media into the learning experience.Matthew’s teaching excellence has twice already been formally recognised through a Learning and Teaching Citation from Macquarie University’s Faculty of Science and a Letter of Merit and Acknowledgement for outstanding teaching and learning from the University of Notre Dame.
