Throughout my time in K-12 education I have found a passion for students’ career interests and educational partnerships within the community. As a school counselor, I worked closely with Ivy Tech and other post-secondary institutions, to establish dual credit and advanced manufacturing programs. As a principal I have established a partnership with 30 local businesses and industry which our students benefit from including; site visits, guest speakers, career interest inventories, learning style assessments, college visits, and various other student career activities. Additionally we established our “Trojan Careers Program” which is an all-encompassing career exploration program which all 900 students in our building participate in. I truly recognize the importance and desperate need for intense career placement and connection program within K-12, postsecondary, and business/industry. My professional goal is to expand my workforce development knowledge while assisting students in career decisions and possible opportunities. As educators I believe we are in a unique position of positively impacting students and their workforce futures. Educators have an immense responsibility, which at the forefront is the importance of career education. Thank you for your time and consideration
