Hack Reactor was acquired by education giant, Galvanize, in 2018.As lead of marketing, growth and community development for the San Francisco location, I handled all Demand Gen and digital marketing and community engagement in a start-up environment. I drove pipeline through online channels and managed our social and PPC marketing. I also drove pipeline in offline channels, and nurtured the prospective students in person; running weekly JavaScript meetups through meetup.com and providing on-site campus tours. Considering we were touting a 98% employment rate and a six-figure salary to boot, it seemed like an easy sell to undecided students.At the time, our strategy focused on the comparison of studying CS at university, and the benefits of enrolling in a coding bootcamp which was a new concept at the time. Our pioneering work lead to the University of California system creating their own bootcamp to stay relevant because, quite frankly, they were annoyed I kept visiting universities and stealing their students.
