I was asked to act as site manager for the Batch SE8 project to manage the construction of the Buerton pumping station and supporting the installation of a 1600 metre rising rain. This was the largest project on the United Utilities MSP non core framework.Key Roles• Managing and supervising civil, mechanical and electrical contractors’ onsite.• Developing programmes and producing progress reports for stakeholders.• Managing health and safety of personel onsite and completing PUWER, COSHH, HAVS, etc.• Identifying design issues and raising technical queries.• Maintaining quality and identifying defects to ensure work is to current standards.Key Achievements• Installation of all operational assets to meet the key date to meet the environmental agencies consent.

A major UK infrastructure company operating in a variety of industries. This role was what on the United Utilities MSP framework as a project engineer, to provide both reactive and proactive maintenance to improve the operation of United Utilities sites in the wastewater south area.Key Responsibilities • Managing projects from concept to handover/closure.• Carrying out site surveys to understand what is required by the client onsite to achieve their goals.• Producing project requirements for approval by the client and issuing for tender to appropriate contractors.• Identifying and managing project risks and finding solutions to reduce or remove risk items.• Reviewing tender packages to ensure the best solution is put forward to the client.• Producing project HASEMP and health and safety documentation.• Reviewing and approving risk assessments and method statements. • Managing and communicating with contractors’ onsite to ensure projects are conducted safely and successfully.• Issuing early warning notices if the project is at risk of delay and/or incurring additional costs.• Attending and chairing meetings with the client to provide information regarding project timeframes, milestones and technical information.• Managing operational handover of projects and issuing handover documentation.Key Achievements • Improved the sampling of a United Utilities wastewater sites by refurbishing a BAFF cell (biologically aerated flooded filter), by replacing the existing concrete floor and dwarf wall, as well as installing new air laterals and nozzles.• Replaced the odour control system on a wastewater site, where a fire had destroyed the existing system and was resulting in complaints from the local community.• Upgraded the rag and large debris removal system on a wastewater site by replacing an ineffective RBI (rotating bar interceptor) with a new redesigned RBI screen, reducing the risk of damage to the inlet screens.
