Office Engineer on the W/ Element Hotel Project, Philadelphia.

The Irish Pub was a bar located in Rittenhouse Philadelphia, which unfortunately closed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. At the Pub I worked in any role that was required of me including Serving, Bartender, Bar-back, Security, Prep Cook, and Dish Washing. With flexible shift hours I worked at the Pub while not in classes as I attended Drexel University or at work during my Co-Op internships.

The final internship while attending college I worked with Tutor Perini Building Corporation, a commercial construction General Contractor. During that time I worked on 2 ongoing projects. The majority of my time as an intern was spent as a Project Engineer on the W / Element Hotel in Philadelphia and roughly 2 months was spent on the Maryland Live Casino Hotel project in Hanover Maryland as a Field Engineer. As a Project Engineer my responsibilities included: Preparing, submitting, & tracking project submittals, RFIs, samples, contract drawings, & applicable logs, while assisting my superior engineers and APMs with their daily work. As a Field Engineer my responsibilities included: Creating, distributing, & systematically completing work to complete lists & punch lists, while assisting my superior Superintendents with their daily work.

My second Co-Op internship was spent working with GeoStructures a third party concrete and soil inspection company. Splitting my time between a multitude of projects and jobs throughout the greater Philadelphia area my day to day responsibilities included completing concrete, grout, rebar design conformance, and soil compaction inspections. Every day I created daily reports recounting work performed and incorporated technical data results of the inspections before personally scheduling the next day inspections. I completed inspections on a multitude of projects throughout the Greater Philadelphia Area including: Birdsboro Power Project, Lincoln Square, Villanova Commons Dorms, Haverford Municipal Building, and multiple residential projects.

For the first of my Drexel Co-Op experiences I worked with Wm. J. Donovan Co. a HVAC specialty subcontractor / supplier. My role with the company was mainly to assist the project managers with their daily responsibilities on ongoing projects. I also assisted the office administration team as needed. My roles included filing taxes, office / project payroll, project drawing review, project document control, processing change orders, and project scheduling. After my 6 month Co-Op ended I was hired on part time to continue my responsibilities while also attending my classes.

While attending High School I worked as a Contractor's Assistant for a family friend. My role was to assist with the heavy lifting and staging of materials to make the work of my supervisors easier. I was also trained on the job to complete some home improvement work like painting, decking, insulation, flooring, tile, and demolition. I also learned how to bill, schedule, and order materials for each job.
