Matt begin his career in research science before transitioning into Landscape Architecture. After a brief academic position at The University of Texas at Austin, Matt began practicing in Miami, Florida at Raymond Jungles, Inc. There Matt worked on a diverse range of exciting projects from single family residential to large mixed-use and condo projects. In 2013, he returned to Texas to practice with Studio Outside Landscape Architects.As a member of the Studio Outside team, Matt is responsible for managing and coordinating public garden, commercial, and residential projects through all phases of the design process. He strives to create meaningful and memorable landscapes that will increase the user’s appreciation for the built environment. Utilizing his decade in research science, Matt rigorously analyzes the site in order to make responsible design decisions that respond to site specific ecological, biotic, and social systems. At Studio Outside Matt is a leader in the Public Garden Studio. He draws inspiration from the passionate client base that are dedicated to expanding awareness of horticultural and environmental themes while providing landscapes that offer respite and enjoyment. Through a process of stakeholder engagement, site analysis, and narrative based design Matt strives to enable Studio Outside’s garden client group to be ground breakers in the ever growing and evolving role Public Gardens play in society.
