Architect and lead engineer of a full top to bottom greenfield re-engineering of the financial indexes processing, analysis, and  computation platform, under my technical direction. Lead code contributor, engineer, and mentor on a  team of 10. Prior platform was single batch-style monolithic service with a small WinForms UI, moving to the following architecture in the new platform:● Distributed services architecture● In-process hosted REST APIs● Message bus based fast messaging path for event processing utilizing RabbitMQ● Distributed in-order event processing utilizing advanced concurrency techniques (Lamport clock,  concurrency group based message dispatch)● Bi-temporal data storage in SQL Server● Concurrent dependency graph of index rules based in Neo4j● Internal and external facing Angular SPA UIs built in TypeScript● C# ASP.Net Core based custom hosted service framework● Immutable data for full change tracking and auditing

Recruited by project management to spearhead a change in direction of a stalled 5 year re-engineering of  an OpenVMS and C based ETL to a Win/SQL Server/SSIS based ETL process. Mandate was to provide a  proof-of-concept for a portion of the re-engineered ETL that was taking approximately 6 hours compared  to 45 minutes on the legacy platform.● Implemented Scala solution on Apache Spark architecture● Custom functional pipeline framework to allow for chaining of composable transform steps● Utilized both high-level DataFrame API transformations as well as lower level pure Scala where  required to avoid unnecessary shuffling● Unit testable design through careful separation of Scala code from Spark dependencies and calls  (current and legacy platforms had no unit tests)● CI and deployment chain created using Azure DevOps, deploying into Azure Databricks as a job jar● Custom integration test platform in pure Scala to deploy test case data and databases, exercise  the Spark jobs, and compare written SQL outputs to CSV data maintained by QA (current and  legacy platforms had no integration testing)● Mentoring of developers to assist in gaining familiarity with Scala and Spark● Implementation of code review process via Azure DevOps● Final PoC implementation took 6 minutes end-to-end with greater data accuracy, and was  approved by the board as the platform to continue forward with

Implemented, administered, and secured a critical uptime financial analytics system with multiple sites. Support systems development and quality control.Instituted and implemented the first DevOps and CI infrastructure at CRSP for the real time financial index system, utilizing TeamCity and Octopus Deploy.Fluent in HP Bladesystems, Cisco B-Series, EMC VNX, VMware. VCP5 certified.

Migration from NetWare 4 / Windows 98 environment to a highly available Server 2003 / Windows XP environment. Administered and implemented all systems including Cisco ASA and VPN functionality.
