My career started in the Business of Hotel, Motel, Restaurant Development and Operation. I later became involved with Electric Utilities as a Manager of Accounting and Budgeting. I progressed to Director of Finance with a Crown Corporation and later continued in the field of Electric Utilities until the year 2001. I contributed greatly to the implementation of two fully integrated Accounting and Reporting systems in two Utilities and one Municipal Government. I ended my career as CFO of a privately owned electric utility in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Our team was able to change the fortunes of this Utility from cumulative years of losses to profitable to the point that we were able to recover losses and reduce rates by 20%. The company was later sold to Fortis.In 2002 I received an offer from a City in Saskatchewan that owned their Electric Utility to become their City Manager. We had many successes in Municipal Government resulting in increased service, strong Economic Development and significant growth. Throughout this period I worked in three Cites and served eight Mayors and Councils.
