NRG Fleet Services is a specialist provider of all areas of fleet management to municipal and commercial sectors. Act as one of three Group Board Directors having a major input into shaping and driving the strategy throughout the Group.• Building strong relationships with bank and many different asset finance houses, finding new funders generating a large increase in facilities to improve liquidity when needed whilst lowering funding cost.• Carrying out detailed due diligence on all potential Company acquisitions. Making recommendations to other Board members. Driving through the agreed acquisitions and successfully integrating into the Group.• Continuously challenging, improving, and driving adherence to, processes and controls throughout the Company.• Regular liaison with major customers, increasing business opportunities, improving billing procedures and ensuring continuous payment to terms.• Budget process improvement, challenge and ultimate sign off

Mainly worked on two assignments. The first involved carrying out detailed analysis of all operational and financial processes in the company and providing recommendations for improvement and ultimately implementing an action plan to carry out the recommendations.• Produced recommendations and action plans encompassing over 30 operational and financial process and control improvements which were all accepted by the Board.• Made 12 recommendations for ways to improve the cash position of the company.• Managed the implementation of all recommendations through to a satisfactory conclusion within the timescales set.• Embedded strong communication processes and performance measurement at all levels within the company.The second involved carrying out financial due diligence and producing an implementation plan for the acquisition of a £15m turnover company.• Produced list of required due diligence information, set up the data room fully tested all areas and produced recommendation report. • Gave detailed analysis of operational processes of potential acquisition put together action plan for merging the company in with other trading entity in Group.• Alongside solicitors produced legal documentation for acquisition.• The acquisition completed within the timescale and budget set with no issues.

Reported directly to the managing director and managed a team of 24 staff including 5 direct reports.• Responsible for all areas of finance; accounts, planning, credit control, accounts payable and payroll. Also had responsibility for IT department.• Had a critical involvement in determining the strategic direction of the company, preparation of the annual strategic plan, including presentation to senior executives within the Lloyds Banking Group ultimately achieving sign off. • Timely and accurate design and production of weekly/monthly/annual management information for all levels of both internal and external customers.• Monthly representation of the company in meetings with senior executives within Lloyds Banking Group to discuss its trading performance.• High level of involvement along with the Managing Director in the acquisition and integration of two companies and latterly in the sale of Hill Hire to Ryder.• Represented the company in face to face meetings with some of its major blue chip customers to discuss pricing and billing and to develop strategies to trade with them at optimum levels without causing credit risk to the company.• Company risk officer, responsible for reporting any customer, credit, operational, RV or staff risks as they arose as well as in a monthly meeting with Lloyds Banking Group.• Produced annual financial statements and managed all external audits in relation to the statutory accounts as well as any tax or compliance audits.

Assistant Group Accountant for £60m turnover company who were wholesale suppliers and packagers of lighting and electrical products to the automotive and consumer markets. Began in the role of Group Accounts Junior and had two promotions in my time with the company.
