Supports the technical, environmental, and economic evaluations of existing and emerging technologies including a variety of conversion processes (e.g. anaerobic digestion, gasification, pyrolysis, and thermal combustion) utilizing a wide range of biomass feedstocks (e.g. agricultural residues, animal wastes, biosolids from wastewater treatment facilities, food waste, forest residues, pre-processed wood fuels, municipal solid waste, and urban wood). Environmental evaluations include air emissions analysis and permitting, greenhouse gas evaluation, and water resource impacts. Economic evaluations include pro forma modeling to identify key financial metrics (e.g. projected cash flow, internal rates of return, and simple payback periods) and due diligence sensitivity analysis.

Developed the training manual for Waffle-Crete's pre-cast concrete system. Worked onsite with local engineers to develop building layouts and for project management and training.

Work with Dr. Stan Wanat of the Stanford School of Medicine to substantively edit a series of guidance notes for world leaders on environmental policy tools for pollution management.

Developed and marketed a tutoring service for the Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Mountain View, and Los Altos area. Expanded program to 10 tutors serving over 30 families, yielding over $40,000 in annual revenue.

Designed, constructed, and installed a 4kW solar system. Installed new plumbing and electrical systems in two houses. Trained local workers to maintain the systems.

Designed structural systems and foundations for 1kW wind turbines, provided maintenance for 5kW micro-hydro turbine, and led constructability review for two-story construction project.

Led the design for the user interface of the Development Scenario Simulator under the supervision of Professor Martin Fischer, Director of CIFE (Center for Integrated Facilities Engineering), and worked with GIFT and Parsons Brinckerhoff to analyze development projects.

Worked with Ona Andre to respond quickly to occupant requests, manage building code requirements, and maintain inventory for two buildings. Helped to optimize remodeling and space configurations.

Integrated architectural design software into the cost estimating process, estimated costs for a $30 million performing arts center, and designed life cycle cost analysis templates for the use of solar arrays.
