• Design and collaborate with ID and Project Management and create new packaging concepts and developments by using tools such as ArtiosCAD and Creo Parametric.• Oversee and deliver NPI material from source to distribution in concert with Operations• Respond to and resolve design, logistics, and supplier issues over the package lifecycle.• Use Tops palletizing software to create packaging designs that work efficiently throughout the supply chain and save logistics costs.• Conduct quality audits to identify new packaging suppliers and materials.• Validate packaging designs by performing ISTA 3A packaging testing protocol. • Create and manage packaging BOM; oversee engineering change orders that involve packaging parts and assemblies.

Packaging Responsibilities:•Manage all aspects of packaging and related point of sales projects.• Work with various international vendors (tier 1 to tier 4) for the creation of structural design for packaging and point of sales displays.• Design primary, secondary, tertiary, and pallet packaging parts using Creo Parametric (formally ProE). Designs are specific to desired substrates and processes that include: paperboard converting, corrugated converting, thermoformed plastics, molded fiber, injection mold plastics, and adhesive labels to name a few.• Create multi-level Bill of Materials (BOMs) for various sku's.• Oversee testing procedures of different packaging types to validate designs and packaged environments. • Proof artwork and advise on regional specific packaging regulations.• Manage the execution of various regional certification requirements to allow the product to be sold in a country legally and safely. • Manage the creation of production quality workflows that include Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Standard Inspection Procedures (SIP's).Reliability Responsibilities:• Develop and oversee the Doppler Labs internal product reliability testing standards that include: Accelerated life testing, Life cycle testing, cosmetic testing, electrostatic discharge (ESD), and package testing.• Attend lab testing, monitor results and work with related departments to root cause and implement fixes corrective actions.Certification and Compliance Responsibilities:• Manage certifications & monitor compliance testing for products developed at Doppler Labs including: regional specific radios & EMC (FCC, IC, CE), product safety (NRTL, CB Scheme, IATA shipping), Environmental (WEEE), Substances of Very High Concern (RoHS, REACH, Prop 65), Bluetooth Sig• Oversee proper labeling for product, packaging, and related manuals.• Manage documentation and DOC's for proper compliance to related standards.

•Manage all aspects of packaging and related point of sales projects to support market segments, channels, sales programs and customer needs.•Manage external vendors for the creation of structural design for packaging and point of sales displays. • Coordinate with sourcing to meet all project timelines, budgets, materials requirements, and priorities.• Conduct pre-production testing of packaging materials to ensure quality and integrity in the retail environment (and shipping to) before final delivery to the packaging line.• Work closely with Logistics Process Technician to optimize packaging processes.• Interface with clients and sales personnel in order to solve customer packaging issues and/or demonstrate more suitable packaging and/or display options.• Complete and continually update packaging strategy and plans for the Leatherman brand, market segments, channels and product platforms.• Responsible for the creation and management of all packaging data and the item set-up process including: configured and un-configured part numbers; weights and measurements; and BOMs.
