The Tāngata Whenua Coalition for an Effective Plastics Treaty (TWC) is a collective of Māori plastic pollution experts including community leaders, educators, scientists, businesspeople, and researchers, who are committed to ensuring the full and meaningful participation and representation of Tāngata Whenua throughout the United Nations Global Plastics Treaty (GPT) process.Our mahi involves attending and informing INC negotiations, submission writing, and holding hui as Tāngata Whenua and rights/knowledge holders internally, with Tauiwi Allies, and with the NZ government, as well as the Indigenous People's Caucus (IPC), Scientists' Coalition for an Effective Plastics Treaty (SCEPT), and Plastic Treaty Coalition.

The IIPFP comprises Indigenous representatives from across all 7 UN socio-cultural regions (Africa, Arctic, Asia, North America, Latin America/Caribbean, Pacific, Russia/Eastern Europe) and has been formed through coordinated and structured work between members. This approach has facilitated meaningful and extensive engagement in negotiations.

Reuse Aotearoa is an independent organisation dedicated to pursuing and advocating for reusable packaging systems in Aotearoa.This role involves: • Kaupapa Māori research into reuse systems in Aotearoa• Research report writing, publication and science communications• Community outreach and communications including social media management

Since its launch in 2016, more than 2,000 organizations and 11,000 individual supporters from across the world have joined the movement to demand massive reductions in single-use plastics and push for lasting solutions to the plastic pollution crisis.This role involves: • Co-facilitation of BFFP’s Working Group on False Solutions for the Asia-Pacific region• Development of community campaigns against false solutions to the global plastic pollution crisis, such as pyrolysis/incineration and bioplastics

The Aotearoa Plastic Pollution Alliance is a collective of researchers, artists, activists, and kaitiaki focused on mitigating plastic pollution in Te Moana-Nui-a-Kiwa (the Pacific Ocean). This role involves public and internal communications including the management of APPA’s website and range of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc).
