My occupation involves teaching English at Secondary school level. l would describe myself as a facilitator of learning. Motivating and empowering students to take responsibility for their learning. In teaching English for the last 13 years I have acquired skills in written and verbal communication. I am constantly communicating with a range of groups from all socio-economic areas. I am expected to provide detailed reports charting student progression. Similarly an important aspect of teaching and learning is on going professional development which I participate in and fully believe to be important.

I have been teaching English to Secondary school students at St Bede's College. My role is to act as a facilitator of learning and to empower students to take responsibility for their own education in the classroom. In the time that I have been teaching I have been involved with a number of coaching and cultural activities that enable me to connect with a wide range of students and their families. .

Teaching at Buller High School was my first teaching position. I was working as a Long Term Relief Teacher. I was teaching junior and senior English and Social Studies. I was also teaching History. While working at Buller High School I involved myself with the local community drama society. Similarly I involved myself with coaching junior cricket at Buller High School.
