I managed cost and process improvement projects from inception through production qualification. In this role, I analyzed data to determine potential projects, their savings, and capital investment required. I was responsible for all project activities: 3D design (Creo 4.0), Production Flow Diagrams, FMEA, Control Plans, Operator Work Instructions, Safety Documentation, and Machine Installation and Qualification.

I was an integral member of a small team tasked with implementing a new production line into the facility. As the engineer, I provided manufacturing expertise for tube forming and bending equipment. The responsibilities included: training operators, writing work instructions, identifying and implementing process improvements, and traveling both domestically and internationally to source and qualify over one million dollars worth of equipment.During a major quality defect, I was on the resolution team, finding a root cause and determining the corrective action. I traveled independently to customer plants across the United States, training and leading small teams in the proper rework technique.

In my second summer as a Process Engineer, this time on the transmission case side of the plant, I was involved in the first production runs of components for the 525 Relentless, Bell's new medium duty helicopter. I played a similar role as a process engineer, red-lining drawings with new dimensions to produce acceptable finished parts. I worked both as a part of the engineering team and independently with minimal direction from my supervisor.

I was a member of a multi-functional process engineering team focused on process innovation and development in gear and transmission shaft manufacturing. On this team, I analyzed dimensional reports and worked through tolerance stack ups to direct machinists at each operation step to ensure final product acceptance. During the summer, the labor union was in the midst of a contract dispute and refusing voluntary overtime. I volunteered to run the CNC mill and lathe equipment with FANUC controls to keep the customer deliveries on schedule
