About Matt Samara
I have always been captivated by the world's oceans and its inhabitants. My interests are quite varied and include more broad topics such as animal care/welfare and environmental conservation, but I also have more specific interests such as elasmobranchs. As such, I find it difficult to choose a dream job. I could see myself working in an aquarium or zoo setting or aiding in research or conservation efforts. Regardless, I absolutely love scuba diving even having only been recently certified. An ideal job, would therefore, be focused on hands-on/field work. I want to be diving and interacting with animals, not spending a majority of my time behind a desk or in a lab. If I am wet, then I am happy.As for myself, I am very easy-going and can get along with most people. I can function efficiently both independently and as part of a team, and I enjoy being challenged. I consider myself a proactive worker that wants to get things done, but I also like to have fun and be light-hearted when appropriate. Overall, I am a very optimistic person and am able to make the most of my opportunities.
