In this role I was responsible for a team of over 60 student ambassadors, directing student-led outreach and widening participation on behalf of Jesus College Cambridge.This role has involved taking part in the planning and execution of events locally in Cambridge, and in our London and Tyne and Wear link areas, to raise educational aspirations and provide support to students from 'non-traditional' backgrounds, in particular in applying to the University of Cambridge - an example of one of these events is a 2 week tour of schools in Tyne and Wear. I have also been involved in the training of the team of student ambassadors, developing resources and presentations to meet this objective.Through this role I have developed an expert knowledge of the Cambridge applications process, including having been trained in assessing personal statements by the Jesus College, Cambridge Admissions Tutor for Recruitment.I have also undertook to increase the online and social media presence of the Jesus College Students Union, expanding our use and the quality of output on social media platforms, curating an Alternative Prospectus, and I am currently developing a blog with contributions from Ambassadors.I have also acted as a student representative as part of the Jesus College Student Union, expressing the concerns of students to the university, which has required liaising with senior management within College, as well as extensive communication with the student body at large.
