I am a research manager with the Centre for Technology Adoption for Aging in the North (CTAAN) at the University of Northern British Columbia. My current work focuses on managing research projects which involve using innovative technological solutions for enhancing quality of life and improving autonomy over aging for older adults. I also work with the Collaborative Research in Empirical and Theoretical Embodiment (CREATE) lab based out of Memorial University of Newfoundland. I research how cannabis use and traits associated with schizophrenia affect brain activity related to language processing. I'm very interested in how psychoactive substances affect the brain. I have an academic background in experimental psychology (MSc) and biomedical studies (BHSc Hons).Outside academia, my biggest passions lie in teaching guitar and playing in bands. Music is something that seems to evade explanation. I think the electric guitar might be the closest thing we have to magic.Thanks for taking the time to read my biography.
