The main part of my job was the day-to-day running of the waste water pumping system in the city, consisting of 125 pumping sites.Helped oversee all new construction of pumping stations. I implemented renewal programmes for pumps, electrical systems and pipe work at sites on an annual basis. I also oversaw daily maintenance and cleaning programmes.Helped implement annual plans for new water main works, replacement of old existing water mains, replacement of old existing storm water and waste water pipes and renewals for fittings on water pipes.I designed water main flushing programmes for water quality issues we were having in the city in conjunction with a local consultant.Running of the water restriction programme in the city during high consumption periods.Handled minor storm water, waste water and mains water complaints on a day-to-day basis.

Completed topographic surveys for road design, pipe design and drainage works, also for volume calculations at landfill sites.Marked out work sites and alignments from designs.Able to do all work needed to bring survey up to design stage myself, including all processing work using MicrostationCarried out traffic counting research using Metrocounters and tube system.
