NEW:I have been doing this for some time now.I was an on-staff editor for four now-defunct magazines, two of which defuncted with me still at them.I was one of the first few editors at Thrillist. Much, much later I freelanced for them, but only once.As a project manager, I helped launch The New Yorker's website redesign and paywall for Conde Nast. I was let go shortly thereafter. I was also let go the same day I shipped a 1,000+ page exam prep guide for an engineering exam prep guide publisher that has since ceased to operate. Lesson learned: Project managers are essential — right up until they successfully complete their projects.More recently, I helped launch a content marketing solution for a SaaS platform for content marketers and SEOs. I left to put what I’d been preaching into practice, creating content that is useful, engaging, and impactful. These days I'm full-time employed at an established and evolving B2B SaaS company as a Web Writer and Editor and occasionally moonlight as a B2C freelance writer. The work is interesting, my co-workers are smart and kind, and I don't obsess too much about getting a byline in The New Yorker anymore. Message me if you want to REALLY know "About" me.OLD:I will carry the message.More than 20 years of experience writing, editing, and managing some top-notch titles while contributing articles to others. Credentials include progressive responsibility with documented success at various organizational levels.A versatile contributor with experience in all core online publishing functions, top-flight consensus-building and problem-solving skills, and the ability to make difficult decisions.Specialties: content management, editing, email, features, project management, newsletters, page, radio, stories, reporting, television, writing, conversational Japanese, supervision, mentoring.
