As Executive Director, I am currently managing the ongoing work and development of our initiatives in scientific research, policy, and food system research & development. I am managing a growing team, and building a strategic vision for the next decade of the organization.

As a field tech at HC, I conducted field data collection, operated in-field sampling equipment, including hydraulic soil coring machines, portable greenhouse gas analyzers, multi-sensor soil scanners, and GIS equipment. I also assembled and deployed in-situ sensors and data logging stations for eddy-covariance GHG measurement and water quality analysis. As Managing Director, I now lead a team carrying out research projects in the US and Mexico. I oversee research design, and development of soil sampling and handling methodologies suitable for soil carbon assessment in diversified regenerative agricultural systems. I continue to apply this knowledge, as well as my extensive experience in production agriculture, to real-world contexts like voluntary carbon markets and state & federal policy, through technical writing and policy advocacy.

As a founding member of Climate TRACE, I worked on behalf of Hudson Carbon to develop and implement a strategy to work with the best people, tools, and technologies that leverage satellite data, remote sensing techniques, and machine learning to improve emissions estimates for the global agriculture sector.

As part of the SHF team, I supported the implementation of an regenerative organic transition across 2000+ acres. Work included rotation planning, grazing planning, farm & field design, including laying out contour cultivation, equipment operation, fertility management, farm data management, and compliance for USDA Orgainc, OPT Certified Grass-Fed, Non-GMO Project, and Animal Welfare Approved (AWA) certifications.

Managed all aspects of a 30-acre homestead. Managed a breeding flock of Icelandic & Clun Forest ewes, mixed stone fruit, apple, & pear orchards, vegetable gardens, pastures, and composting.Designed & built fencing, farm roads, diversified market garden, and other farm infrastructure.

Worked on harvest & processing crew and was responsible for field work, including primary and secondary tillage, bed prep, mechanical weed management, fertilizer & compost applications, cash & cover cropping sowing, and irrigation. Sky Farm is a 10-acre specialty salad operation, growing organic lettuces, mustards, spinach, herbs, & edible flowers, as well as high-CBD hemp and recreational marijuana.

On a 15-acre specialty salad & produce operation, growing organic lettuces, mustards, spinach, herbs & heirloom tomatoes, I worked on harvest crew and processing crew, and assisted in tractor work & other field tasks.
