Design Engineer
Director Of Player Development
In addition to coaching my own team, I am responsible for outlining and implementing our goals, procedures and practice and game schedules for the year for both our players and coaches. In collaboration with our staff, I design our practice and workout environments that will allow our players to achieve their playing goals. My tasks include creating a workout regiment for our players, selecting drills for skill development and also using technology such as BlastMotion, Rapsodo and PocketRadar to track our players progress over time. I am an active American Baseball Coaches Association member as well as OnBaseU Hitting and Rapsodo Hitting/Pitching certified .
Mechanical Design Engineer
Orise Research Fellow
I worked with industry partners to develop standard testing procedures to detect design flaws in cardiac lead devices during preclinical trials. These tests were designed to prevent perforation of the myocardium as well as failure due to fatigue. This research required designing and testing various test fixtures in Autodesk, and using MatLab and Excel to analyze and visualize the data.
Student Worker
The 4-H Foundation is a youth development program run by the state. My responsibilities at the main center include assisting the office staff with projects, copying and printing, creating spreadsheets, and organizing the office. Some projects that I was a part of was a week long family retreat for Military children and their families where I helped organized and run the camp. I was responsible for helping Japanese exchange students during a month long home stay with 4-H Families throughout the state of Maryland.
President And Head Coach
I was the president and head coach of the University of Maryland Club Baseball team. Our organization consisted of 50 members and two teams that competed against teams in the Mid Atlantic Region. Each year we would submit a budget proposal to the school to help offset the $10,000 it costs per year to run the club. We would collect player fees and setup fundraisers for travel expenses, umpires and equipment and it was up to myself and the treasure to make sure funds were allocated appropriately. We also committed to several community service projects a year. In addition to the behind the scenes work, I was charge in scheduling and running practices in games. In my three years as coach, we advanced to the Regional playoff twice, won our conference for the first time in 6 years and our D2 team advanced to the World Series. My senior year our club won Sport Club of the Year for our dedication to our members and school.
Mechanical Engineering Intern
In the United States, a child dies every two weeks from furniture tip over. At CPSC, I was tasked with rapid prototyping a device using a 3D printer to combat furniture tip over. The Furniture Tip-over team I worked with presented this device at a National Conference as a way to get the industry to start thinking about different ways that they can make their products safer. Additionally, I designed and machined test fixtures to test other consumer products to check if they were safe enough for the public.
