General Assembly’s immersive UX course focuses on hands-on work centered around the UX process. During the 10 week span of the course we worked on 4 different projects. Throughout this course I learned all steps of the design process and how to make use of a wide array of tool and apply them to different projects. This included group projects and a final client project which showed me what it is like to take your skills into the real world. In addition to this, I developed my teamwork skills while practicing lean UX and sprint-like timeframes.Client project:Pillar’s Social Well-being TrackerPillar is a platform for moms and moms-to-be who struggle with pregnancy and motherhood, in which they can find support and advice from each other. Not only did this project involve sensitive themes but there were also many challenges along the way, from a rather small target user base to seemingly inconclusive user research to introducing new elements and colours to the UI while maintaining the brand’s image.Communication with the client was key to the project’s success. In addition to this, this project also showed me aspects of teamwork which I never experienced before and taught me how to overcome difficult situations with other group members.The solution we presented to Pillar, which was based on our user research, was somewhat different to that which they had envisioned, in spite of this they were extremely happy with the outcome and open to our proposition. -- More projects listed in the Accomplishments section below --

During my six weeks at OpenSignal, I worked closely with the Lead UX designer and helped with the design of their new app. It helped me familiarise myself with parts of the design process as well as better understand the different tools used throughout the conception of an app. In addition to this, my time at OS showed me what it’s like to work in an interdisciplinary team. I learned the importance of communication between all teams through weekly stand ups as well as the impacts design decisions can have on the development side of a project.Projects:-NexGen I focused mostly on sketches, lo-fi wireframes, prototyping in Proto.io and user testing. I learned the importance of accessibility, more specifically choosing a color palette while keeping in mind different user needs.-TravelMapThis project was in its early stages, I was tasked with doing competitive analysis, ideation and sketches.
