I I was responsible for promoting the full POI portfolio of products and services. With direct reports, I was also required to work with the other Sales Leaders, the Regional Sales Leaders, and other members of the POI Leadership Team. I was responsible for cultivating client relationships, uncovering business opportunities, and obtaining customer commitments. In relation to the POI Customer Journey (sales process), focus was on brand positioning, opportunity development and solution development with both lead and support responsibilities throughout those parts of the sales cycle.

I was brought into POI to lead the Construction Solutions team, comprised of project managers, sales roles, administration, design and production. The role required me to motivate, nurture and align team members relative to POI’s mission and vision including talent assessment, skill development, performance management, motivation, mentoring, education and training. I supported the team to meet clients’ outcomes throughout the sales process and work collaboratively and effectively with other POI departments. I was responsible for prospecting and developing relationships, uncovering opportunities, influencing client groups and closing sales opportunities. I proactively built and managed relationships with POI’s supplier network, General Contractors, designers, architects and end users to identify and closed opportunities. I developed annual sales targets and operational plans to support POI’s value proposition.

Navigating the responsibilities of developing and running the Project Management and Design departments, advising and collaborating with the real estate teams, and managing the need for continued growth and accountability was an exciting challenge. Enhancing existing processes and establishing new allowed for greater efficiency in the work product, more detailed and accurate scheduling and budgeting, and a more robust class of project management tools. Engaging directly and closely with the real estate teams and global services groups provided holistic insight into the many facets of the real estate industry.

I commenced working at Freeman + Freeman Design Inc. directly from college. We provided design and project management services to a broad range of clients with a focus in commercial interiors. As a small firm, when I started I was thrust into challenging roles from the onset. I grew with the firm over the years to a position of Senior Associate, developing and evolving the company’s standards, practices and technology. I assisted the partners in growing the firm and actively mentored new employees, guided their work product and managed their outputs. Leading a team or working individually we successfully delivered many diverse projects.
