About Matt Singleton
Howdy! I am a junior at Texas A&M University majoring in Aerospace Engineering with plans to get a MS in Space Engineering after I complete my undergrad. I got into the aerospace industry as a 17 year old, earning a high school internship (50 spots out of 300+ applicants) with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Fort Worth, TX. Currently going on my third internship rotation with Lockheed Martin, I have experience solid and surface modeling, as well as hands-on assembly and composite lay-up, on the Sierra Nevada Space DC-101 Dream Chaser Tenacity space-plane, Blue Origin HLS New Glenn rocket, CCA Loyal Wingman Lockheed Martin ADP proposal, and other various experimental programs. Here, I have learned so much on what it means to provide quality products to the customer, how to work in a high-stress and time sensitive environment, how important attention to detail is, and how to never be afraid to speak up and ask questions or voice my opinion. Through my experiences at Texas A&M and Lockheed Martin, I am proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, CAD software (3DExperience, CATIA V5), and Python coding. During my senior year at Texas A&M, I will be taking space-specific elective classes in an effort to learn about the industry I am eager to get involved and invested in.I was a part of Boy Scouts of America for eight years, earning the rank of Eagle Scout. My Eagle Scout project consisted of raising money for a local children's home so each child there could purchase their own new pair of shoes. Through my communication with friends, family, my scout troop, and the community, I was able to raise north of $1200 for the 30 kids in the home. I spread the word of my project through Facebook, Craig's List, and other media platforms as well as signage and door-to-door communication. During this entire process, as the leader, I learned so much about what it takes to be a quality leader and how to manage people and maximize resources, such as time, to the most efficient ways possible. Before I got my career started in the aerospace industry with Lockheed Martin, I have prior work experience with Airborne Trampoline Park, landscaping with a locally owned and operated business, and umpiring youth baseball games with my local recreational sports association. My personal interests include faith, watching and playing sports, space, airplanes, listening to music and playing guitar, spending time with family and friends, travel, and lifting weights. My personal contact information is as follows:Cell: (817) 925-7462Email: matthew.r.singleton@icloud.com

Lockheed Martin Intern Academy And Adp Structures Design Intern
Lockheed Martin Intern Academy/Adp Structures Design Intern
I have been with Lockheed Martin for three intern rotations as of summer 2024, beginning in high school. As a senior, during the 2021-22 school year, I earned one of 50 available positions in all of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Fort Worth, in the ADP Advanced Structures department. Here, I worked 8-12 hours a week on-site, working on part- or full-scale assembly of the Dream Chaser Tenacity space plane. I also supported Blue Origin's HLS New Glenn program by solid modeling the nose fairing and rocket vehicle using CATIA V5. Moreover, I also utilized CATIA V5 and CAD DataNet for various ADP programs, as well as assisted in the assembly/lay-up of composite materials in the lab for experimentation and testing. The following summer (2023), I interned with the same department as in high school, except being assigned with different tasking. Here, I used the modeling skills I acquired and built on them significantly more. Specifically, I utilized 3DExperience to solid and surface model the forward fuselage of Lockheed Martin's CCA Loyal Wingman ADP proposal, as well as assisting wherever else help was needed. Using 3DExperience, I learned critical workplace skills such as how to collaborate with others, how to work on a time-sensitive program, how to not be afraid to ask questions, how to be bold and speak up, and the importance of teamwork and dedication. The following summer (2024), I once again interned with the same department tasked with similar work from the summer 2023 internship rotation. This rotation, however, I am a member of the Lockheed Martin Intern Academy, or LMIA. LMIA is a distinguished and special group of junior and senior interns who get specialized training on a 21st century technology (for example, hypersonics, AI, etc.), as well as have exclusive access to networking events within Lockheed Martin or back at their college campuses leading career fairs and other on-campus events promoting Lockheed Martin to other students.
Umpire
Umpired youth baseball games at my local youth association with ages ranging from 5 to 14. Umpired both behind home plate calling balls and strikes as well as in the field. Umpired from recreational to select baseball.
Landscaper
During the height of the COVID-19 lockdown, I worked with a locally owned business doing various landscaping duties, such as mulching, weed pulling, and bush and tree removal.
Safety Monitor
Monitored customers and ensured their safety at all times on various rides and features.
