- Forecasts goals and objectives for sales, gross and key expenses on a monthly and annual basis.- Prepares and administers an annual operating forecast and budget for the used-vehicle sales department.- Establish relationships with potential customers and show them the benefits of purchasing a vehicle from the dealership. Ensure proper follow-up of all potential buyers by developing, implementing, and monitoring a prospecting and sales control system.- Responsible for negotiating prices with suppliers and securing new inventory.- Develop sales campaigns with specific goals to increase brand awareness and stimulate sales.- Ensure that the dealership complies with state and federal laws regarding vehicle sales.- Manage all aspects of a dealership’s used car inventory including pricing, advertising, and negotiating deals with suppliers.- Identify potential problems with vehicles before they reach the lot to ensure customer satisfaction.- Responsible for providing customers with information about financing options, warranties, trade-ins, or other related topics.- Manage a team of sales associates to ensure they are meeting sales goals. Assists individual salespeople in setting aggressive yet realistic monthly goals and objectives and provides them with the support to meet these goals.- Recommend changes in pricing structure, inventory mix, or other factors to increase profitability.- Approves all paperwork from auctions and provides proper documentation to the office for purchases.
