As CEO of the Colorado Flights Alliance, Matt Skinner leads efforts to create economic sustainability and growth for Colorado’s western slope through air service and corresponding support programs. With more than 20 years’ experience in travel & tourism, resort communities and public service, Skinner has an established track record of success and a heartfelt dedication to the regions in which he has lived and worked.With Colorado Flights Alliance, Skinner develops and executes annual and long range plans for air service to the region, including airlines, airports, communities, amenities, assets and stakeholders, and coordinates destination sales & marketing campaigns. He manages the public/private partnership with funding municipalities, private businesses and governing counties, and in his time at the job has produced record results for air service and corresponding economic growth to the region.As Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Telluride Ski & Golf, Skinner provided executive leadership for the resort while managing the destination brand, and planning and executing all sales, marketing, communications and partnership programs for the resort. During his tenure, the resort saw double-digit growth and number one North American resort rankings, and he and his team were recognized with multiple national marketing awards and an industry leadership award. Prior to that he worked in tourism destinations in six different countries.Skinner has been engaged and involved in public service as it relates to long term-economic and cultural sustainability in each of the regions in which he has lived. He recently served as Chair of the Colorado Tourism Office Board of Directors, along with previous work on the Marketing and Travel Resource Committees. He worked with and served on the Colorado Flights Alliance Board before joining as CEO, and served on a parallel board in Durango. There, he was also the Chairman of the Durango Area Tourism Office Board of Directors.Skinner is originally from Idaho, married to Kiera and the proud father of Kyle and Camille. He earned degrees from Santa Clara University and the University of Montana’s top-ranked graduate writing program. He is looking forward to passing his passion for the outdoors and travel along to his children, and being a part of developing the community and country in which they can thrive.
