I lead and support the management of a team delivering research projects across a number of manufacturing technologies relevant to high value manufacturing within the nuclear sector. I have a specific interest in novel and advanced applications across fission and fusion and space based applications

I have lead and managed a range of advanced manufacturing technology development and implementation projects across a range of TRLs and appllication areas within the nuclear industry.

Performing project based research within the Machining and Metrology Group at the Nuclear ARMC I conducted research across a wide range of manufacturing activities. Projects included the optimisation of tube-sheet welding procedures, manufacturing reviews of SMR, machining optimisation projects, experimental research into the use of carbon dioxide as a machining coolant, modularisation feasibility studies and the use of sensors to enable the creation of SMART fixtures.

During my study of the nuclear fuel cycle at the Centre of Excellence in Nuclear Engineering CDT I performed computational fluid dynamics (CFD) research within the Institute of Particle Science and Engineering. My research was concerned with the large eddy simulation of multi-phase non-spherical particulate flows. This was within the context of the simulation of Magnox swarf sludges currently stored at Sellafield.
