As a private contractor, I continued to fill my previous Interface Architect consultant role as well as filling in for the role typically provided by an Interface Engineer.

While keeping my previous position as Interface Architect and it's associated responsibilities, as the Knowledge Lead (KL) for Supply Chain interfaces, I work with other consulting teams’ KLs to determine and execute implementation strategy for our Consulting organization. This includes determining project timelines, event structure, and supporting collateral for my team’s consultants to use in day-to-day interactions with our clients. In addition, I serve as the main liaison between our consulting org. and our Intellectual Property (IP) Supply Chain and interface organizations collaborating with their strategists to develop recommendations in order to ensure each project is using Cerner best practice and reporting and tracking non-project specific issues such as engineering level code defects, design defects and enhancement requests.

As an Interface Architect, my role includes planning and overseeing interface installation at client sites. This involves leading the complex interface design and specification review sessions with the client and 3rd party vendor representatives, providing tier 2 support for Interface Engineers while providing mentoring for design, coding, troubleshooting and issue resolution.In addition to normal client work, non-client work performed including; establishing/uplifting standards with preferred partners/3rd party vendors, as well as internal Cerner Consulting model interface content and serving as a subject matter expert across the interface community.

As a Sr. Interface Engineer, my role remained mostly the same as an IE, however, I began to perform Interface Architect work and engage in more non-client facing efforts such as designing and publishing training materials and leading training events with our U.S. and India based associates.
