"Leaders inspire accountability through their ability to accept responsibility before they place blame."-Courtney LynchI am passionate about excellence in design, however I believe that the true litmus test for excellence in a technical field is the ability to communicate effectively, regardless of your audience. From engineers to executives, the most powerful testament to competence in one's field is the ability to communicate a concept (problem, solution, idea, etc.) in ten words or less. By the end of your sentence, if the audience (regardless of their background) is on the same page with you, then you have demonstrated not only technical skill, but an ability to sympathize and understand a problem from someone else's perspective, allowing you to give them exactly what they need up front.I have been fortunate to be involved in many fields within automation design. Currently as a professional engineer working in sales applications, I am able to visit potential customers to truly understand their process, their people, and their problems before even beginning to draft a solution. I then take all that information back to the drawing board, where I strive for innovative solutions specific to the individual's needs. After presenting this proposal, I am then able to lead the design while participating in both the mechanical engineering and software development teams to ensure the highest quality work and that all of the customers needs are addressed so that nothing gets missed. Throughout this entire process, I am in constant pursuit of honing my leadership skills, and setting the example that I want my team to strive for. I believe in taking ownership over everything you touch, and never willfully overlooking a single detail.In addition to mechanical engineering, automation design, sales and software development, I am also certified as an industrial robot programmer (because I believe you shouldn't sell something you don't fully understand) which allows me to develop turn-key robotic solutions. I am also the co-creator of IRCO's production monitoring system (IRCOpulse) which bridges the gap between data science and effective maintenance practices, allowing customers to use production monitoring IIoT systems for traceability, optimization, predictive maintenance, analytics, downtime tracking, operator training and much more.I am EN/FR bilingual, and when I am not working I spend my time volunteering as a first responder with Search & Rescue in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and teaching/mentoring robotics and computer science at local high schools.
