Going out into the local community and finding out what people really wanted from their local newspaper was a key element in the growth of the newspaper. Attending community events was another way in which I was able to connect with a be proud of the Cranbrook Herald. Being heavily involved in a successful launch of a newspaper in the 21st Century is something not many people will have the pleasure achieving. To top it off the first edition made national headlines in the BBC news.
