As Chair of the governing body, my role is to play a key part in the leadership and management of our schools.My role involves the following:- Working with the headteacher to promote and maintain high standards of educational achievement.- Ensure that the governing body sets a clear vision, ethos and strategic directionfor our schools.- Along with the governing body, we hold the headteacher to account for the educationalperformance of the schools and its pupils, and for the performance management of our staff.- Ensure oversight of the financial performance of the school and effective use of the schools resources.I will still represent on the board as a Parent Governor.

The Federation’s Governing Body is responsible for providing confident and strategic leadership, and creating robust accountability, oversight and assurance for our schools’ educational and financial performance. The Governing Body is passionate about education and committed to continuous school improvement to ensure the best possible outcomes for our pupils.As a parent governor, I work with the Governing Body to ensure it effectively carries out the duties referred to above. I also play a vital role in ensuring that the Governing Body is connected with, and is aware of the views of, parents and the local community.
