Out of college and entering the world as a mechanical engineer, I was very fortunate to go to work for the Fisher family - the family responsible for the automobile body. While there, I was introduced to web design and technology deeper than browsers and email clients.On days I was going into work to work on website tasks with the marketing team, I was going in and staying late. You can say that I found myself and a career change was in order.Shortly after realizing I wanted to shift from a ME to a web designer, I then went to work for a large advertising company responsible for web properties.There I got my first real in-depth look at the world of advertising/marketing and how large-scale companies build websites.With a thirst for more, I became very interested in software systems, platforms, microservices, and so on. I realized then that I wasn't after another career shift, but I was after a more challenging position in the industry.That's when I went to work for a global software agency responsible for some of the largest software builds for various Fortune 100 companies. I'm blessed to gain the experience that I did, and I'm thankful for the many amazing and smart professionals whom I had the chance to collaborate with and learn alongside.I gained valuable experience in systems, best practices, security, testing, continuous agile deployment, project management, and more. Collaborating with professionals in different fields such as SEO, Data/Analytics, Marketing, and DevOps, allowed me the opportunity to learn why these aspects are truly important and cannot be overlooked.
