We are focused on People, Place, and Profit to improve our “Quality of Life for Today & Tomorrow.” Visaggio & Co. organized and presented the inaugural SWFL Sustainability Summit on April 30, 2015 where we showcased environmentally, financially, and socially sustainable practices for business owners and community leaders in Southwest Florida through panel discussions. Now, SWFL Sustainability, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Visaggio & Co., LLC, and we are focused on keeping the momentum moving.

Worked with concerned citizens to identify key issues for House District 74, which includes Cape Coral, Sanibel, and portions of Fort Myers in Lee County; and Boca Grande in Charlotte County; researched legislative issues, tracking legislation of particular interest to the Representative and constituency. Explored legislative ideas for potential submission and filing in the Florida House; performed special assignments, research, and report preparation. Reviewed records and reports that required action and recommended viable solutions; handled constituent requests, liaising between local, county, and state governments and appropriate entities; created office communications on behalf of the Representative, including mailings, press releases, and constituent correspondence; and attended state and local meetings, citizen’s initiatives, and non-profit events on behalf of the Representative, including Lee County Affordable Housing and State Road 78 Work Group meetings.

Facilitated bi-weekly group meetings focused on teaching pro-active life skills; mentored and counseled teens, making referrals when necessary; led group in community volunteerism projects and participate with community agencies; designed and organized specific TOP (Teen Outreach Prevention) program for Make a Difference Day, a national day of volunteerism, October 27, 2007, to assist an elderly gentleman improve his home and yard; and taught adult parenting classes as an alternate (November 2007-July 2008)

Responded to hotline reports regarding allegations of abuse, neglect, abandonment and/or special conditions, determined findings, and input information into HomeSafenet database; conducted child safety assessments; maintained and closed files of families being served; worked in conjunction with numerous state and community agencies including: law enforcement- special victims unit and major crimes division, the Child Protection Team, Southwest Florida Addiction Services, Child Care of Southwest Florida, Lee Mental Health, Lutheran Services, and Guardian ad Litem; transitioned cases to community based service providers and recommended necessary programs and assistance for families; and filed petitions in dependency court, testified regarding investigative findings, and remained involved with case through to the court case’s disposition.

Managed a case load of up to forty clients with the majority demographic being migrant farm workers; supervised house personnel in regard to individualized case management implementation; designed case plans by identifying individual client needs, monitored progress, and organized files to fulfill organization’s mission to empower the working poor; advocated for client needs including: medical benefits, transportation arrangements, physical therapy, alcohol/drug abuse treatment, legal aid, housing, counseling, and mental health treatment; built strong relationships with outside agencies to grow and maintain a beneficial network of service providers for the homeless population; counseled clients on pro-active life skills for future and long-term independence; and worked in conjunction with the homelessness liaison of Collier County to identify and enroll homeless and at-risk children in school.
