Babcock – Electrical Academic Tutor (27.09.21-Present)In my role as an Electrical Academic Tutor, I delivered training to Network Rail Level 3 apprentices. I was responsible for: • Training apprentices and instructing classes through assessments• Assessing, marking work, providing feedback to learners and monitoring student progress• Making sure teaching resources are available and developing course materials • Managing BTEC Telecommunications units as Module Responsible Tutor• Enhancing delivery by working with colleagues and agreeing best practice• Ensuring all activities follow Health and Safety procedures for Babcock and Network Rail, as well as other policies such as Equality and Diversity• Working with internal verifiers to ensure compliance and standardisation

In my role as an Electrical Craft Tutor, I delivered training to Network Rail Level 3 apprentices. I was responsible for: • Training apprentices and instructing classes through assessments• Assessing, marking work, providing feedback to learners and monitoring student progress• Making sure teaching resources are available and developing course materials • Managing QPEO 036 (Assembling and Testing Electronic Circuits) as Module Responsible Tutor• Enhancing delivery by working with colleagues and agreeing best practice• Ensuring all activities follow Health and Safety procedures for Babcock and Network Rail, as well as other policies such as Equality and Diversity• Working with internal verifiers to ensure compliance and standardisation

I previously worked for Network Rail at their Midlands training, conference and Apprentice centre as Audio Visual Support and then as Technical Co-ordinator. From January 2018 I was the sole member of the team and was responsible for the departments’ smooth running.Key responsibilities:• Ensured all AV and IT equipment operated correctly including performing scheduled maintenance e.g. soldering and rewiring a meeting room AV system/testing cables or sockets• Managed bookings and provided technical support for a range of equipment to delegates, colleagues and Apprentices. This often involved putting quick fixes in place and scheduling repairs• Ran large events in the Auditorium, operating all sound and visual equipment including microphones, mixing desk and AMX control system• Technical upgrades of the conference centre ranging from wiring upgrades/equipment upgrades• Training non-technical members of staff where necessary• Reported major issues to the centrally-managed IT Helpdesk• Purchasing and Inventory ManagementAchievements and projects:• Leisure Club Sound System design, installation (including fitting and wiring) and integration• Bar TV and networked media distribution upgrades using Cat6 Ethernet• Creation of short videos for the HR department• Full site PC upgrades to Windows 7 • Design, install and setup of Apprentice IT Area• Property Management System upgrades and Door Access System upgrades

When starting at Advanced Technology Services I was originally appointed the Supply Chain Specialist role. Despite my job title never changing I was moved onto the Materials project. The main goal of the project was to improve the performance of the parts storeroom, which supplies the parts needed for maintaining factory machines in an Automotive Engineering company. I have received training for SAP, ordering parts from suppliers, inventory management and documenting all paperwork. I produced metrics to evaluate the performance of the stores and over the course of the project saw the results improve dramatically.

After graduating from University I led the Studio Re-fit project. This involved re-wiring, acoustic testing, reconfiguring software and creating help sheets for the faculties recording studios.

In my demonstrator role I assisted university lecturers in the delivery of the Acoustics and Musical Instruments (UG1) module. This involves ensuring all students understand the tutorial topic and am competent in all aspects of the module.

On my placement year for my degree I worked for my University, running the Audio Visual Laboratory that I had previously been taught in. My main roles were to ensure smooth running of classes in the laboratory and help with the delivery of laboratory modules. This included teaching, producing teaching materials and preparing equipment. If any of the technical team were on leave, I would also cover their job. Alongside this I was a part in running Open Days for the University, talking to potential new students and leading tours of the facilities.
