I had an idea, so... - I wrote a business plan - Engaged key contacts (developers / suppliers) - Built a new site and grew online - Managed/grew the customer base & business through various channels - Sold the business.

Challenging but great... I led system and process changes across 8 complex businesses as part of a Group with £10bn turnover. Projects significantly improved the Finance Shared Service Centre but spanned across Food Retail’s SharePoint system and Corporate’s eProcurement system. I combined elements of Six Sigma and Prince2 to identify and implement change opportunities, which were delivered using waterfall SDLC methodology. Worked closely with SMEs, vendors and developers to conduct gap analysis by documenting ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ processes to then design, build, test and implement a phased/iterative approach to transformations. While delivering system and process changes within Finance, I deputy managed a team of 6 and ensured full reconciliation of the main Co-operative Group bank account (c. £240m per week). I then worked with project managers, IT and 3rd party vendors transfer to an automated bank reconciliation system, requiring effective time management to instrument the changes while also meeting strict, business critical deadlines. I transferred complex processes into the FSSC, building rapport to obtain and document key information from employees who were in vulnerable and/or senior positions. I recommended new ‘to-be’ processes to senior management, incorporating technological changes for efficiency improvements. Furthermore, I played a pivotal role in the implementation of a credit card web-portal. This role required in-depth technical knowledge, strong influencing skills and the ability to develop contacts. I was also required to train and improve the team’s skills on a regular basis.

I built strong, influential relationships across the country and obtained resources to implement a new, more efficient system for creating reports using MS Access.

Having obtained an understanding of requirements, I used SAP and MS Office to conduct detailed analyses and enable key decision making to drive profitability.
